Cameroonian cultural & artistic evenings
Douala doesn't lack culture — it lacks places that put it on a stage. We want Ngodi Bakoko Hôtel to be one of them: an address where a traveller doesn't just sleep well, but leaves having actually met the country.
The idea is simple: periodic evenings built around Cameroonian heritage, open to hotel guests and, for larger editions, to outside visitors as a genuine reason to walk through our doors.
- Traditional music and dance performances (makossa, bikutsi, and regional repertoires), performed by local artists
- Exhibitions of Cameroonian visual art and crafts, in collaboration with galleries and independent artists from the Douala scene (in the spirit of Doual'art, a few minutes from the hotel)
- Culinary evenings showcasing regional cuisines beyond our usual menu — a chance to taste dishes from other parts of Cameroon in one sitting
- Local artisan pop-up markets — textiles, woodwork, jewellery — for guests who want to bring a piece of Douala home

For weddings and larger receptions, 2-3 months ahead gives the best flexibility on dates and catering planning. Smaller private dinners can often be arranged with just a few days' notice.
Both — smaller editions are curated for hotel guests, while larger ones are open to outside visitors and can be built into group or tour packages on request.
